Position Summary:

The Principal of Marketing Automation & Technology is a hands-on builder and strategic thinker responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing the marketing technology stack that powers Empower Pharmacy’s growth. This role sits at the intersection of marketing, product, sales, and engineering, translating business objectives into scalable automation workflows, integrated tool ecosystems, and AI-enhanced processes. The right candidate brings deep technical fluency, a bias toward execution, and the judgment to build systems that can scale alongside the organization.

Responsibilities:

Martech Platform Management

  • Platform Integration: Evaluates, onboards, and integrates marketing technologies across the martech stack, including marketing automation (Pardot), CRM (Salesforce), paid media platforms (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok), web (WordPress), and analytics (Google Analytics), ensuring tools are configured for performance, compliance, and cross-functional usability.
  • Vendor Oversight: Monitors platform performance, maintains vendor relationships, and evaluates emerging technologies to keep the martech stack current, cost-effective, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Tool Governance: Maintains a centralized inventory of martech vendors and licenses, tracking contract terms, renewal dates, and costs to support informed platform investment decisions.

Automation & Optimization

  • Workflow Design: Designs and builds end-to-end marketing automation workflows, covering lead lifecycle management, nurture programs, audience segmentation, and campaign operations, with a focus on reducing manual effort and improving conversion outcomes.
  • Process Optimization: Drives process optimization by auditing existing workflows, identifying friction points, and implementing solutions that improve operational efficiency for both the marketing team and the teams it supports.
  • Campaign Operations: Builds standardized campaign operations playbooks that ensure consistency in execution, quality assurance, and reporting across all automated marketing programs.

AI & Architecture

  • AI Implementation: Leads the identification and implementation of AI-powered tools and workflows, including LLM-based automation and agentic AI deployments, to accelerate content operations, campaign execution, data analysis, and process automation across the marketing organization.
  • Systems Architecture: Establishes and maintains a scalable martech architecture by defining data flows, integration standards, and system governance practices that support long-term growth without accumulating technical debt.
  • Data Governance: Defines data governance standards across the martech ecosystem, including taxonomy, naming conventions, and quality controls, as new tools and AI workflows are introduced.

Cross-Functional Enablement

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partners cross-functionally with product, sales, and technical teams to align marketing systems with broader organizational infrastructure, ensuring data integrity, attribution accuracy, and seamless handoffs across functions.
  • Training Enablement: Develops documentation, training, and enablement resources that help stakeholders across the organization use marketing tools effectively and consistently.
  • Performance Communication: Communicates martech performance, roadmap progress, and AI initiative outcomes to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders in clear, business-relevant terms.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Hands-on proficiency with Pardot (or a comparable MAP), Salesforce CRM, Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, WordPress, and Google Analytics; familiarity with how these platforms connect and share data is essential.
  • Practical experience designing and deploying AI-assisted workflows using tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar platforms, with an understanding of where AI adds genuine leverage versus where it introduces risk.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with marketing data, build reports, identify trends, and translate findings into operational recommendations.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in marketing operations, marketing technology, or a closely related role, with a track record of owning and building systems rather than just managing them.
  • Demonstrated experience at mid-market or growth-stage technology companies, including later-stage startups, where the ability to build in ambiguous environments and with limited resources was required.
  • A four-year degree in marketing, information systems, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharma, or other regulated environments with exposure to HIPAA compliance requirements is a plus but is not required.

Key Competencies:

  • Customer Focus: Builds trust through customer-centric solutions.
  • Strategic AI: Guides responsible AI adoption and adaptation.
  • Optimizes Work Processes: Drives efficiency with continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates: Partners effectively to achieve shared goals.
  • Resourcefulness: Secures and deploys resources efficiently.
  • Manages Complexity: Simplifies and solves complex challenges.
  • Ensures Accountability: Delivers on commitments with integrity.
  • Situational Adaptability: Adjusts approach to shifting conditions.
  • Communicates Effectively: Tailors messages to diverse audiences.

Values:

  • People: Empowering people defines who we are.
  • Quality: Excellence in every product, every time.
  • Service: Serving others is our highest purpose.
  • Innovation: Advancing care through technology and discovery.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
