Sales Development Representative / Business Development Representative Intern
Position Summary
This role delivers measurable business impact by accelerating pipeline generation, improving lead quality, and enabling scalable revenue growth within Empower’s hyper-growth, highly regulated 503A/503B environment. The position owns early-stage demand generation activities, including prospect identification, engagement, and CRM data integrity, directly influencing conversion efficiency and sales velocity. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the role enhances speed, scale, personalization, and decision-making across outreach and analytics. Success requires P80–P90 talent demonstrating strong strategic thinking, disciplined execution, and continuous learning agility. This role aligns tightly with Empower’s mission of expanding access to high-quality, affordable medications while operating with precision, compliance, and innovation in a complex healthcare landscape. Duties and Responsibilities
Pipeline Development
- Lead Generation: Execute targeted outbound prospecting using AI-enhanced tools across email, phone, and social channels to identify high-potential leads, improve engagement rates, and expand pipeline coverage while aligning outreach strategies with evolving market insights, regulatory considerations, and Empower’s value proposition within a complex healthcare ecosystem.
- Prospect Research: Conduct structured, AI-supported research on accounts, stakeholders, and industry dynamics to uncover actionable insights, enabling highly personalized outreach, stronger value articulation, and improved qualification accuracy while continuously refining targeting strategies based on data-driven performance feedback.
- Inbound Management: Respond to inbound inquiries with speed and precision using AI-assisted prioritization and response frameworks, ensuring timely engagement, accurate qualification, and seamless transition into the sales funnel while maintaining high standards of professionalism, compliance, and customer-centric communication.
Sales Execution Support
- Campaign Execution: Support multi-channel outreach campaigns, leveraging AI to optimize messaging, timing, and sequencing, while collaborating with SDRs and BDRs to ensure alignment with broader sales strategies, campaign objectives, and performance metrics that drive measurable pipeline growth.
- Meeting Coordination: Schedule and coordinate discovery meetings using automated tools and structured workflows, ensuring high-quality handoffs, complete context transfer, and strong first impressions that enable sales teams to engage prospects effectively and accelerate conversion through the sales cycle.
- Sales Shadowing: Actively participate in discovery calls, account reviews, and pipeline discussions, applying AI-enabled note-taking and analysis to extract insights, identify patterns, and continuously improve understanding of effective sales techniques, objection handling, and customer engagement strategies.
Data and Performance Optimization
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant data within Salesforce CRM, leveraging AI-driven data hygiene tools to enhance data quality, improve reporting reliability, and support better forecasting, segmentation, and decision-making across the sales organization.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor key activity and pipeline metrics using dashboards and AI analytics, providing timely updates and insights that inform strategy adjustments, highlight opportunities for improvement, and reinforce accountability for results in a high-performance environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Apply feedback, training insights, and AI-generated recommendations to refine outreach techniques, productivity, and effectiveness, demonstrating learning agility and execution discipline while contributing to process optimization and scalable best practices across the team.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in CRM systems such as Salesforce, with ability to leverage AI tools for data enrichment, workflow automation, and performance tracking in a fast-paced, metrics-driven sales environment.

Experience and Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent.
- Interest in sales, business development, or customer engagement.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365; CRM experience (Salesforce preferred) is a plus.
