Senior Non-Sterile Compounding Technician 503A (1st shift)
Position Summary
The Senior Non-Sterile Compounding Technician delivers critical operational impact by ensuring precise, compliant, and scalable compounding production within Empower’s high-growth 503A/503B environment. This role owns end-to-end execution of non-sterile compounding workflows, driving quality, safety, and throughput while mentoring technicians and optimizing batch consistency. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the position enhances decision-making, accelerates troubleshooting, and improves production accuracy and efficiency at scale. Operating within stringent USP <795>/<800> and regulatory frameworks, this role requires disciplined execution and continuous improvement. Duties and Responsibilities
Compounding Operations
- Batch Execution: Execute complex non-sterile compounding processes across solids, liquids, and semi-solids, ensuring precision, consistency, and compliance with USP <795>/<800> standards while leveraging AI-enabled verification tools to enhance accuracy, reduce variability, and optimize throughput in a regulated, high-volume production environment.
- Process Optimization: Continuously improve compounding workflows by analyzing production data, identifying inefficiencies, and applying AI-driven insights to enhance speed, scalability, and reproducibility while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Equipment Utilization: Operate and maintain specialized compounding and packaging equipment, integrating predictive analytics and AI-supported monitoring to minimize downtime, ensure calibration accuracy, and sustain consistent production performance aligned with operational targets.
Quality And Compliance
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all compounding activities meet federal, state, and USP <795>/<800> requirements by embedding AI-assisted compliance checks, documentation accuracy, and audit readiness into daily workflows, reinforcing a culture of accountability and precision.
- Quality Assurance: Drive batch-level quality control through rigorous verification, deviation identification, and AI-supported trend analysis to proactively detect risks, enhance product consistency, and uphold Empower’s commitment to high-quality pharmaceutical outcomes.
- Safety Enforcement: Maintain strict adherence to hazardous and nonhazardous handling protocols, using AI-enhanced monitoring systems and standardized procedures to ensure safe environments, proper PPE usage, and containment practices across all compounding activities.
Technical Leadership
- Team Mentorship: Provide hands-on training and technical guidance to technicians, reinforcing best practices, regulatory standards, and AI-enabled tools while elevating team capability, consistency, and performance in a fast-paced production environment.
- Problem Resolution: Serve as a technical expert in diagnosing formulation and process issues, leveraging AI-driven diagnostics and cross-functional collaboration to resolve deviations efficiently and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead incremental improvements through Lean methodologies and AI-supported insights, driving measurable gains in efficiency, quality, and scalability while aligning team execution with Empower’s operational excellence standards.
Knowledge and Skills

Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in non-sterile compounding or pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a strong command of formulation processes and a track record of optimizing techniques for solids, liquids, and semi-solids to ensure consistent product quality.
- Associate's degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong leadership and adaptability skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while motivating and guiding teams.
- Proficiency in Excel or other spreadsheet software and knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment to support efficient operations.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) (required); PTCB Nonsterile Compounding Certificate (preferred); Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (preferred).
