Position Summary

This role delivers measurable business impact by producing high-quality, customized non-sterile medications that directly expand patient access and revenue in a hyper-growth 503A/503B environment. The Pharmacy Technician owns end-to-end compounding execution, ensuring precision, compliance, and throughput across formulations. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the role enhances speed, batch accuracy, documentation quality, and real-time decision-making in regulated workflows. Operating within strict USP, FDA, and state requirements, this position safeguards product integrity while scaling production. Duties and Responsibilities

Compounding Operations

  • Batch Preparation: Prepare non-sterile compounded medications including creams, gels, capsules, and solutions by accurately weighing, mixing, and labeling ingredients, leveraging AI-enabled verification tools to enhance precision, reduce variability, and ensure compliance with USP 795 and 800 standards while maintaining consistent production throughput and quality outcomes in a high-volume, regulated pharmaceutical environment. 
  • Process Execution: Execute compounding procedures with strict adherence to SOPs, using AI-supported workflow systems to optimize sequencing, minimize errors, and improve efficiency while ensuring traceability, documentation accuracy, and compliance with FDA, OSHA, and state board requirements in a fast-paced production setting. 
  • Quality Assurance: Perform in-process and final verification checks to ensure product uniformity, potency, and labeling accuracy, utilizing AI-driven monitoring tools to detect anomalies, support root cause analysis, and proactively prevent deviations while maintaining rigorous quality and compliance standards.

Equipment And Systems

  • Equipment Operation: Operate compounding equipment such as capsule fillers, ointment mills, and blister pack machines, applying AI-based performance insights to improve consistency, maximize uptime, and ensure adherence to validated operating parameters in a high-throughput manufacturing environment. 
  • Maintenance Support: Clean and maintain compounding equipment according to established schedules, using AI-enabled tracking systems to anticipate maintenance needs, reduce downtime, and ensure equipment reliability while supporting compliance with safety and regulatory standards. 
  • Digital Documentation: Accurately complete batch records and production documentation using systems such as LifeFileleveraging AI-driven validation tools to improve data integrity, ensure audit readiness, and provide real-time visibility into compounding activities and compliance performance.

Compliance And Collaboration

  • Regulatory Adherence: Follow USP, FDA, and state regulatory requirements, utilizing AI-supported compliance tools to monitor adherence, identify risks, and ensure all compounding activities consistently meet stringent regulatory and quality expectations. 
  • Safety Practices: Apply OSHA and ANSI safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and hazardous material handling, leveraging AI-driven safety insights to reduce risk, reinforce compliance, and maintain a safe and controlled compounding environment. 
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with quality, regulatory, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes, using AI-generated insights to enhance decision-making, support investigations, and drive continuous improvement in product quality and operational efficiency.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong knowledge of non-sterile compounding techniques, USP 795/800 standards, and regulatory requirements, with ability to apply precision and consistency in high-volume pharmaceutical production environments. 
  • Proficiency in compounding equipment operation and digital systems such as LifeFile, with ability to leverage AI-enabled tools for documentation accuracy, workflow optimization, and quality assurance. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and apply AI-driven insights to improve processes, reduce errors, and enhance production outcomes. 
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability, and collaboration skills, with ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated, team-oriented environment focused on quality and compliance.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in nonsterile compounding, combining, admixing, diluting, pooling, reconstituting, packaging and labeling medications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, chemical or industrial engineering, pharmaceutics or industrial pharmacy is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to read, understand, and follow technical documents and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform rudimentary mathematical calculations and use of pharmaceutical-grade compounding equipment.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Technician Trainee license required; Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Nonsterile Compounding Certificate preferred; Lean Six Sigma White Belt preferred.
