Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Position Summary
The Director, Financial Planning & Analysis serves as a strategic finance leader responsible for transforming FP&A into a system that enables disciplined growth, regulatory resilience, and data-driven decision-making. This role owns forecasting, scenario planning, unit economics, and performance management across a complex, regulated manufacturing environment. The Director integrates operational, regulatory, and financial data into a single source of truth that executives rely on daily.
A core focus of the role is leveraging artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and modern planning systems to improve forecast accuracy, predict operational risks, and accelerate executive insight. The Director leads system implementations, develops scalable planning processes, and builds AI-enabled forecasting and demand sensing capabilities. Success is measured by improved clarity, faster decisions, protected margins, and sustained growth without compromising compliance, quality, or liquidity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performance Management & Unit Economics
- Develop SKU-, batch-, and facility-level unit economics with clear accountability.
- Implement facility P&Ls and standardized performance metrics across sites.
- Convert financial data into action-oriented insights with owners, timelines, and outcomes.
Constraint-Based Enterprise Planning & Forecasting
- Build capacity-driven forecasts grounded in cleanroom, labor, batch, and quality constraints.
- Lead rolling scenario planning for demand volatility, API shortages, and regulatory outcomes.
- Own cash flow and working capital forecasting in inventory-intensive manufacturing environments.
AI, Systems & Advanced Analytics
- Deploy AI-driven demand sensing and forecasting models to improve accuracy and responsiveness.
- Lead implementation and ongoing optimization of Anaplan and Power BI as core FP&A platforms.
- Establish explainable AI governance aligned with compliance and audit requirements.
Regulatory-Integrated Financial Leadership
- Translate FDA, USP, DEA, and state regulatory requirements into financial models, risk scenarios, and capital plans.
- Model downside scenarios including inspection findings, remediation timelines, and capacity interruptions.
- Partner with Quality and Operations to fund compliance-critical investments protecting license to operate.
Team & Operating Model Development
- Design and build a high-performance FP&A organization aligned to hyper-growth.
- Establish planning cadences, executive rhythms, and decision frameworks.
- Develop talent capable of independent partnership, ownership, and enterprise thinking.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong financial planning, forecasting, and modeling capabilities within complex environments, with hands-on proficiency using Anaplan and Power BI to build, analyze, and communicate insights.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and enhance planning systems, design scalable FP&A processes, and integrate operational, regulatory, and financial data.
- Working knowledge of AI-enabled forecasting, predictive analytics, and model governance, with the ability to apply advanced tools responsibly in regulated settings.
- Executive-level communication skills translating complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insight.

Experience and Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive FP&A or finance leadership experience in high-growth, complex organizations.
- Proven experience leading enterprise system implementations and financial transformation initiatives.
- Practical, working proficiency with Anaplan and Power BI, including building models, dashboards, and planning workflows; expert-level mastery not required.
- Demonstrated success developing forecasting models, scenario planning, and AI-enabled analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or life sciences is beneficial but not required.
