Position Summary

The Compensation and Benefits Specialist at Empower Pharmacy is a collaborative, data-driven partner who’s instrumental in the design, administration, and continuous improvement of the total rewards program that attracts, motivates, and retains top talent. This role blends analytical expertise with service excellence—translating market data and employee insights into equitable pay structures, competitive benefits, and clear communications that strengthen trust and engagement across the organization. As Empower expands access to affordable, life-changing medication for 300 million people, this role ensures that our systems, incentives, and insights grow in step with our mission.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administers total rewards programs by conducting comprehensive market analyses, benchmarking positions, maintaining pay structures, and ensuring internal equity while aligning compensation and benefits strategies with Empower’s growth objectives.
  • Designs, administers, and continuously improves Go-to-Market (GTM) and sales compensation programs, including base pay structures, incentive models, and commission plans that drive revenue performance while ensuring competitiveness, fairness, and compliance
  • Executes annual and cyclical programs including compensation reviews, incentive plan modeling, performance-based pay adjustments, and open enrollment, ensuring seamless execution, compliance with regulatory requirements, and a positive employee experience.
  • Coordinates and optimizes benefit offerings by evaluating plan performance, analyzing cost and utilization trends, negotiating with vendors, and recommending enhancements that balance affordability, competitiveness, and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensures full compliance with all applicable regulations, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, and IRS reporting requirements; proactively conducts audits, maintains accurate documentation, and partners with legal and compliance teams to minimize risk.
  • Delivers insights and communications through dashboards, reports, and presentations that translate complex data into actionable recommendations; builds clear employee-facing materials to drive understanding, engagement, and trust in Empower’s total rewards philosophy.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Other abilities required by this job include close vision.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Deep understanding of AI tools and technologies, including their application to compensation modeling, benefits analytics, workflow automation, and employee communications.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools; proven ability to interpret complex data and present insights to leaders and employees.
  • Track record of building collaborative partnerships with HR, finance, vendors, and leaders to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in compensation, benefits, or total rewards, with demonstrated success in designing and administering market-based programs, including Sales Team Compensation plans.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, economics, or a related field required.
  • Preferred Certifications include Certified Compensation Professional (WorldatWork); Certified Benefits Professional; Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional; Certified Employee Benefits Specialist; Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources.
