Position Summary

The New Employee Onboarding Specialist plays a vital role in helping new employees acclimate to Empower’s culture from day one, creating unforgettable first impressions and a seamless experience that sets each new hire up for success. This role serves as a trusted guide through the onboarding journey—connecting people, process, and purpose with precision and care. In a company transforming access to quality, affordable medication for millions, the onboarding experience is not just administrative—it is mission-critical. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Designs, manages, and executes a high-touch onboarding program that aligns with Empower’s brand and culture, delivering a consistent, engaging experience for every new hire from offer acceptance through their first 90 days.
  • Partners closely with Human Resources (HR), Talent Acquisition, Information Technology, Facilities, and business leaders to coordinate logistics, systems access, workspace readiness, and onboarding schedules that are timely, accurate, and tailored to role-specific needs.
  • Leads live orientation sessions that educate, inspire, and energize new team members, introducing them to Empower’s mission, values, people, and operations with clarity and authenticity.
  • Creates, maintains, and continuously improves onboarding resources including checklists, welcome materials, process documentation, feedback loops, and knowledge bases to support scaling and excellence.
  • Collects and analyzes feedback and onboarding metrics to surface trends, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative, human-centered solutions that increase retention and employee satisfaction.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to deliver high-quality employee experiences in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), with working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in onboarding, employee engagement, learning and development or HR operations within a high-growth, mission-driven environment.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, organizational development, communications, or a related field.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) are a plus.
