Position SummaryThe Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist ensures safe, accurate medication preparation while overseeing compliance, inventory, and risk management. This role drives operational excellence and supports Empower’s mission to improve lives through innovative, affordable care.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manages inventory, prescription compounding, dispensing, and delivery processes, ensuring all procedures and non-sterile labs comply with state, federal, and industry standards.
- Oversees production scheduling, bulk compounding systems, and end-of-day order triage while maintaining equipment functionality and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensures safety and risk management through policy enforcement, hazardous waste disposal systems, proper storage practices, and regular risk assessments to protect public health.
- Verifies product accuracy, evaluates prescriptions for appropriate dosage and therapy, manages inventory, and ensures no outdated drugs are dispensed or maintained.
- Develops policies, procedures, and training systems for pharmacy personnel, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with all licensing requirements while staying informed on industry trends.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in compounding and management required.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.
- Licensed with Texas State Board of Pharmacy required (additional state licenses preferred).
