Position Summary:
The Social & Digital Communications Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and growth of Empower Pharmacy’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Threads, and other emerging channels. Reporting to the Director, Content, this role is the primary steward of Empower’s brand voice and reputation in social spaces, ensuring consistent, compliant, and audience-first engagement that builds trust with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and patients.
This role sits at the intersection of editorial judgment and community management. The Social Media Manager executes a content calendar aligned to the broader content strategy, monitors channel performance, responds to community interactions, and collaborates cross-functionally to keep social content timely, accurate, and on-brand. Success in this role requires strong writing instincts, a deep understanding of healthcare audiences, and the ability to operate within a regulated environment without sacrificing creativity or speed.
Responsibilities:
Channel Management & Publishing
- Publishing Ownership: Own the day-to-day publishing schedule across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, Threads, and other assigned platforms, ensuring consistent cadence and brand voice.
- Calendar Execution: Execute a content calendar developed in collaboration with the Director, Content, balancing brand storytelling, educational content, product campaigns, and community moments.
- Format Adaptation: Adapt content formats — copy, graphics, short-form video, carousels, and stories — to each platform’s audience norms and algorithmic best practices.
- Trend Monitoring: Monitor platform trends, format updates, and competitive activity to surface timely content opportunities to the content leadership team.
Community Engagement & Brand Reputation
- Daily Interactions: Manage daily community interactions across all channels, responding promptly and accurately in Empower’s brand voice.
- Audience Relationship: Build relationships with HCP, patient, and caregiver audiences through thoughtful, empathetic engagement that reinforces Empower’s authority and trustworthiness.
- Reputation Oversight: Monitor brand sentiment and flag reputational risks, competitive activity, or adverse events to appropriate stakeholders immediately and in accordance with Empower protocols.
- Safety Escalation: Escalate patient safety reports, adverse event mentions, or medical inquiries per HIPAA and pharmacovigilance requirements.
Content Production Support
- Compliant Copywriting: Write clear, compelling, and compliant social copy that translates complex clinical or product information into accessible, audience-appropriate language.
- Workflow Coordination: Coordinate with Creative, Medical Affairs, and Legal teams to route content through approval workflows on time and with clean submissions.
- AI Leverage: Leverage AI content tools to accelerate drafting, repurposing, and scheduling while maintaining editorial quality and compliance standards.
- Asset Management: Maintain an organized library of approved social assets, copy templates, and evergreen content to support efficient, on-demand publishing across all channels.
Analytics & Reporting
- Metrics Tracking: Track and report on channel-level performance metrics including reach, engagement rate, follower growth, link clicks, and share of voice.
- Performance Reporting: Deliver regular performance summaries to the Director, Content with clear narrative analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Audience Intelligence: Use social listening and analytics platforms to identify audience insights, trending conversations, and content gaps relevant to Empower’s categories.
- Competitive Benchmarking: Monitor and benchmark performance against industry peers and identify opportunities to improve content resonance and audience growth.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Exceptional social copywriting skills with the ability to adapt brand voice across channels and translate technical or clinical content for patient and HCP audiences.
- Hands-on experience with social media management platforms (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Hootsuite) and native platform tools across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and Threads.
- Proven track record integrating AI and automation into content production, community management, compliance pre-screening, and reporting to drive speed, quality, and cost efficiency.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. Compounding pharmacy, specialty pharma, or functional medicine background is a strong advantage.
- 5+ years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand, with demonstrated ability to grow audiences and drive engagement across multiple platforms simultaneously.
- Familiarity with MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) or similar approval workflows; able to prepare clean submissions and manage revision cycles efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships.
