Position SummaryThe Director, Data Analytics Engineering plays a strategic leadership role in building and scaling Empower Pharmacy's enterprise-wide data analytics platform to drive operational excellence, informed decision-making, and healthcare innovation. This Information Technology (IT) leader oversees high-performing teams, develops best practices for data engineering, and integrates advanced analytics into business workflows. By fostering cross-functional collaboration, ensuring regulatory compliance, and applying sound judgment and innovation, the Director enables Empower to transform into a data-first, patient-centered organization.
Duties and Responsibilities- Defines and executes the data engineering and analytics roadmap aligned with business strategy, operational goals, and regulatory frameworks including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and Food and Drug Administration requirements.
- Leads the end-to-end architecture, deployment, and continuous optimization of scalable, secure cloud and on-premise data ecosystems, integrating complex structured and unstructured data from diverse internal and external sources.
- Recruits, develops, and manages a high-performing team of data engineers and analytics professionals, cultivating a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive enterprise-wide data maturity.
- Collaborates with Legal, Human Resources, Compliance, IT, and business stakeholders to convert operational pain points into scalable, data-driven strategies that enhance efficiency, compliance, and organizational performance.
- Leverages cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) frameworks to automate and modernize data workflows, accelerate time-to-insight, and enable data-informed decision-making across pharmacy operations, finance, supply chain, and patient experience initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills- Possesses deep expertise in modern data stack technologies, with hands-on experience using platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure, along with proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) and NoSQL databases, Apache Airflow, data build tools, and Python to support scalable data infrastructure and analytics initiatives.
- Demonstrates a strong command of data governance principles, privacy regulations, and security frameworks, with a proven track record of deploying and operationalizing AI and ML models in highly regulated, performance-driven environments.

- Minimum of 12 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or analytics roles, with at least 8 years in a leadership capacity within healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required; Master’s degree or Master of Business Administration strongly preferred.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (MC:AZ-305), AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty (AWS:DAS-C01), or equivalent industry-recognized certifications.
