Position SummaryThe Application Solution Architect plays a key leadership role within Empower Pharmacy's Information Technology department by designing secure, scalable, and high-performance software architectures that support digital transformation across healthcare systems. This position works closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to architect enterprise-class web, mobile, and application programming interface (API) solutions while ensuring alignment with compliance standards and operational goals. By applying deep technical knowledge, innovation, and best practices, the Application Solution Architect supports Empower Pharmacy’s mission to deliver high-quality, reliable, and compliant software solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Designs and governs enterprise-scale application architectures that support scalable, secure, and cloud-native solutions across web, mobile, and API platforms, aligning technology strategy with business goals.
- Establishes integration frameworks for Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Laboratory Information Management System, and third-party healthcare systems, ensuring seamless data exchange, high availability, and alignment with enterprise interoperability standards.
- Partners with engineering, Development and Operations, and infrastructure teams to define and uphold best practices in system delivery, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery methodologies, infrastructure automation, and system observability.
- Leads the development of architectural standards for APIs and event-driven services to promote system modularity, reusability, and performance across the enterprise ecosystem.
- Drives compliance with industry regulations including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Food and Drug Administration, and Good Automated Manufacturing Practice by embedding security architecture and identity management principles into the application landscape.

Knowledge and Skills- Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Amazon Web Services (AWS) CloudFormation), serverless computing, and healthcare-related compliance standards such as HIPAA and General Data Protection Regulation.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML)-driven analytics, enterprise search (e.g., Elasticsearch), and low-code/no-code automation tools is preferred.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, including 5 years in a solution architecture role designing cloud-native applications and enterprise integrations.
- Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and container orchestration platforms including Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (AWS CSA), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Azure SA Expert), or equivalent industry-recognized certifications preferred.
