Position Summary

The Supervisor, Pharmacist ensures efficient pharmacy operations, drives performance improvements, and fosters collaboration while maintaining compliance and enhancing customer satisfaction. This role supports Empower’s mission to provide affordable, innovative medications that improve lives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees day-to-day pharmacy operations, monitors pending releases and out-of-stock inventory, and ensures timely and accurate processing of orders.
  • Manages staff schedules, including weekly assignments, Paid Time Off, and Very Important Person phone line coverage, while addressing and resolving workflow delays.
  • Tracks and evaluates Key Performance Indicators to improve operational accuracy and efficiency, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provides mentorship and professional development, evaluates employee performance, and develops training materials to support team growth and success.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, resolves escalated patient concerns, and implements strategies to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently while maintaining integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Possesses thorough knowledge of Texas pharmacy laws, regulations, and industry standards, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of pharmacist experience, including 1 year in a leadership role in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Requires a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
  • Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in Texas with good standing.
