The Packaging Operator I plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of packaging processes, adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and safety guidelines. This position operates and monitors packaging machinery, conducts in-process checks, and maintains accurate batch records, directly contributing to Empower’s mission of providing safe, high-quality medications that improve lives.

• Executes packaging processes, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Operating Procedures, safety guidelines, and related regulations.
• Operates and monitors packaging machinery, including automated and manual visual inspection equipment, labeling, and secondary packaging of vials.
• Conducts in-process checks, including weight verification and equipment calibration, while maintaining accurate packaging batch records.
• Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the packaging line, assists with equipment setup, and troubleshoots minor equipment issues.
• Verifies bulk materials and packaging components before packaging operations and transfers materials between manufacturing and the warehouse.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This job requires close vision with at least 20/20 nearsighted vision (with or without corrective lenses) and normal color vision. Employees must be able to stand, walk for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs.

• Knowledge of 21 Code of Federal Regulations parts 210/211 and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <797>/<800> regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivation, with the ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions.

• Minimum 1 year experience in previous product inspection, packaging or labeling in a pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant coursework or certifications are a plus.
