Position Summary

The Facilities Cleaning Technician is a cornerstone of Empower Pharmacy’s commitment to excellence, ensuring the sterile environments necessary for producing innovative medications that transform lives. In this role, you will uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and compliance, directly contributing to the health and well-being of countless individuals by safeguarding product quality and safety. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains a sterile environment in cleanrooms by adhering to strict cleaning and disinfection protocols, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards.
  • Operates, cleans, and sterilizes aseptic compounding equipment and areas, following standard operating procedures to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.
  • Monitors and records inventory of cleaning supplies and materials, ensuring adequate stock levels to maintain uninterrupted operations and compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborates with pharmacy team members to execute quality assurance procedures, including sampling batches for quality testing and accurately documenting in-process product quality checks.
  • Follows all company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines, including proper garbing and behavior in cleanroom environments, to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to a safe working environment.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong time management, and effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment and adapt to evolving priorities and regulations.
  • Proficient in maintaining aseptic equipment, using respirators, following cleanroom procedures, and accurately documenting quality assurance records, with familiarity in cGMP and USP standards.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a regulated environment required, preferably in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting, with demonstrated ability to maintain strict adherence to cleaning and disinfection protocols.
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; training in aseptic techniques, cleanroom protocols, or related areas is preferred.
  • Additional certifications are preferred.
