Position Summary

The Supervisor, Clinical Pharmacist leads the clinical team, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency while supporting Empower’s mission to deliver affordable, innovative medications. This role fosters collaboration, accountability, and excellence in patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads and supervises the clinical pharmacist team by managing schedules, providing feedback, and ensuring adequate staffing to meet customer expectations.
  • Trains and develops clinical pharmacists on policies, procedures, and service offerings while maintaining up-to-date resources and overseeing quality control for training needs.
  • Monitors clinical pharmacists’ metrics and key performance indicators, identifies areas for improvement, and implements action plans to enhance performance.
  • Collaborates with internal departments and the Class G Pharmacist-in-Charge to ensure prompt prescription processing, accurate adverse event reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures adherence to state and federal drug laws, company policies, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act standards while maintaining required licenses and certifications.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and foster teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software systems, with experience in performance management, coaching, and employee development.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience required, with 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Current License and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
