Position SummaryThe Medical Information Pharmacist at Empower Pharmacy is a trusted expert in pharmaceutical sciences, drug information, and clinical education responsible for providing accurate, evidence-based medical information to healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams. This role plays a vital part in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting clinical decision-making, and enhancing patient safety through high-quality, scientifically accurate communication. By leveraging deep pharmacological expertise and a commitment to excellence, the Medical Information Pharmacist helps advance Empower Pharmacy’s mission to expand access to safe, effective, and affordable medications.
Duties and Responsibilities- Delivers expert medical and pharmaceutical guidance by providing accurate, evidence-based drug information to healthcare providers, patients, and internal teams, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Reviews, verifies, and dispenses prescriptions with precision, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and adherence to all state and federal pharmacy regulations while upholding Empower Pharmacy’s commitment to quality.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive medical resources, including drug monographs, clinical education materials, and standardized response documents, to enhance provider decision-making and patient care.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and quality assurance to ensure all medical communications and dispensing practices align with pharmaceutical standards and compliance requirements.
- Educates and enables internal teams, such as sales, customer service, and clinical staff—on medication therapies, pharmaceutical guidelines, and compliance protocols to enhance customer interactions and patient safety.

Knowledge and Skills- Deep understanding of federal and state pharmacy laws, drug safety regulations, and pharmacovigilance protocols to ensure compliance and patient safety.
- Proven ability to simplify complex medical and pharmaceutical concepts into clear, accessible language for diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and internal teams.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical information, clinical pharmacy, or regulatory compliance role or related pharmacy field within a pharmaceutical, healthcare, or compounding pharmacy setting.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required with a strong background in clinical pharmacology, drug information, and medical communications.
- Licensed Pharmacist required, with additional certifications in Drug Information, Medication Safety, or Regulatory Compliance preferred, including Board Certified Medical Affairs Specialist (BCMAS®) or Medical Affairs Competency Certificate (MACC).
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
