Position Summary

The Director, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) leads the development and execution of strategies that protect Empower Pharmacy’s operations, reputation, and long-term resilience. This role ensures regulatory adherence, proactively mitigates risks, and strengthens security frameworks to support business continuity and strategic growth. By fostering a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and ethical accountability, the Director drives operational excellence and aligns governance practices with industry standards and evolving regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements comprehensive GRC policies and frameworks to enhance regulatory compliance, proactively mitigate risks, and ensure strict adherence to evolving industry best practices, legal requirements, and corporate governance standards.
  • Conducts in-depth risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities, analyze potential threats, and recommend mitigation strategies while continuously monitoring risk exposure and providing leadership with actionable, data-driven insights to strengthen business resilience.
  • Collaborates closely with security, legal, and business teams to align compliance initiatives with organizational objectives, enhance regulatory preparedness, and facilitate thorough internal audits and external regulatory reviews to ensure accountability.
  • Leads enterprise-wide training and awareness programs to embed a culture of compliance, risk awareness, and ethical responsibility while developing proactive strategies for continuous improvement in risk management and regulatory adherence.
  • Manages, mentors, and empowers a team of compliance professionals, fostering a high-performance culture of accountability and innovation while driving advancements in governance and compliance through automation, artificial intelligence (AI)-powered analytics, and strategic process improvements.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in governance, risk, and compliance roles with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and a proven track record in risk mitigation and compliance management.
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Security, Law, or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred for candidates seeking senior leadership roles.
  • Relevant certifications (Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)) are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
