Position Summary

Join Empower Pharmacy’s mission to expand access to affordable, innovative healthcare. As Cost Accounting Manager, you will lead cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial data for decision-making and compliance. Collaborate across departments to optimize processes, improve profitability, and drive operational excellence in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements cost accounting systems to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and alignment with organizational cost efficiency goals.
  • Analyzes production costs in detail, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-saving initiatives while providing actionable recommendations to improve margins, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall profitability.
  • Collaborates with production, procurement, and operations teams to monitor manufacturing expenses and ensure alignment with budgets and strategic goals.
  • ·Prepares and presents cost analysis reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Leads and mentors a high-performing cost accounting team, cultivating a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability, while establishing best practices and ensuring the team’s alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing or Oracle, advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of GAAP.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with at least two years in managerial or supervisory capacity, demonstrating expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
