Position SummaryAs Director of Capital Engineering – Site, you will lead transformative facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure advancements, driving innovation and operational excellence to support Empower’s mission of expanding access to quality, affordable medication. This role combines strategic vision with technical leadership to shape our future and deliver life-changing solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities- Leads the capital engineering team in planning and executing facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives and operational goals.
- Drives initiatives to enhance facility layout, workflow, and equipment effectiveness, aiming for 80% Overall Equipment Effectiveness across all production lines.
- Manages project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring quality outcomes within scope, on time, and on budget, while utilizing Key Performance Indicators for data-driven decision-making and accountability.
- Fosters a collaborative team environment, providing leadership and mentorship to the engineering team, and builds strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and innovation.
- Develops and executes engineering talent development programs in collaboration with Human Resources and Talent Acquisition, while managing the department’s year-end budget to support site objectives.

Knowledge and Skills- Successfully managed large-scale capital projects from concept to completion, with expertise in engineering, facility design, construction, regulatory compliance (Food and Drug Administration and Current Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines), and proficiency in project management and Computer-Aided Drafting tools.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire and motivate teams, fostering collaboration to achieve project goals and objectives while ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.

- Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering program. Master of Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in capital project management, engineering, or related field, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- 6 Sigma Black Belt preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making—adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
